This condition supports proper oral posture and facilitates passive lip closure, reducing the need for continuous conscious activation of the lip muscles.
What is it used for?
Within the Forwardontics Biofunctional Approach, the Lip-Locker can be used to:
- Support proper oral posture.
- Promote passive lip closure without requiring constant conscious lip contraction.
- Help generate and maintain slight intraoral negative pressure.
- Complement the practice of the Up-Lock maneuver.
- Support the conditions associated with nasal breathing during training.
- Be incorporated during rest, sleep, or specific physical activities once the patient has properly learned the technique.
Integration with the Up-Locker
The Up-Locker Sleep can subsequently be attached to a conventional Up-Locker, allowing both devices to be combined as part of the same therapeutic protocol.
This configuration can be used for swallowing-focused exercises, integrating training of tongue posture, lip closure, and intraoral negative pressure into a coordinated functional exercise.
